NEED
Pulmonary vein stenosis (PVS) is a rare disease affecting veins that allow blood to return from the lungs into the heart.
Many children with a diagnosis of pulmonary vein stenosis lose the battle against this progressive disease.
There is still a lot to learn about this disease, and there is an urgent need to find effective therapies to treat this disease.

COLLABORATION
The PVS Network is a community of dedicated health care professionals dedicated to improving outcomes for children with PVS.
Multiple institutions across North America are working together to create more knowledge and understand how best to treat children with pulmonary vein stenosis.
Within each institution, there are clinicians from different disciplines working together to improve care. These include cardiologists, respirologists, cardiac surgeons, intensive care specialists, specialized nurses and social workers.

CREATING HOPE
The main goal of the PVS Network is to advance research and clinical care for children with pulmonary vein stenosis. We will try to achieve this goal:
...through increased understanding
We are creating a large multi-institutional registry to understand current treatment practices, risk factors and outcomes for children with pulmonary vein stenosis.
...through improved clinical care
We hope that the PVS Network registry will help increase our understanding of this disease. Through enhanced collaboration among institutions, we will improve treatment strategies available for children with pulmonary vein stenosis.
...through new research
The collaborative network will strive to advance research focused on pulmonary vein stenosis by identifying areas of interest and linking research communities between institutions. Read about ongoing research on our PVS research page.
